I'd like to point you in the direction of Charlotte Hatherley's new video for her song 'Behave'. Very nicely animated by a certain Oscar Wright, and not a bad tune either. It's well worth checking out if you've got a spare few minutes.

And I'm sure you have: See it here.

Hopefully you've checked out all the new and shiny bits on HotFuzz.com by now, but also make sure you sign up on the now revamped JoinTheFuzz.com for the full fan-community experience!

Calling all Londoners! There's a very special advanced screening of 'Hot Fuzz' happening on 10th February at the ICA. "Why so special?", I hear you ask - well, this particular screening will be followed by a Q&A with Edgar and "special guests" (to be confirmed). For more information see the ICA's site here.

08 / 01 / 07
More ICA news for you - Edgar will be presenting as many films as he can in the upcoming 'Hot Fuzztival' (the "massive fortnight of non-stop cops and hardcore action"), so it'd be in your best interests to get down there and see at least some of the films which inspired your favourite director and his lovely cohorts for their latest flick. More info on that when I get it.

And we have more goodies added to the Videos and Downloads page! Another Bluetones video and two sketches from the 1997 show 'Mash and Peas' with Lucas and Walliams, all directed by you-know-who.

Lastly, got MySpace? Edgar wants to be your friend. And yes, that is really him.

09 / 01 / 07
ICA now have all the info about the 'Hot Fuzztival' up on their site here. Have a browse through the films down the left-hand side there, each one is listed with ticket prices and times.

If you take a gander at the 'Hot Fuzz' listing you'll also see that the "special guests" have been confirmed as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost; that the screening is now a double-bill (being paired with 'The Super Cops') and that Edgar will be DJing between films. Nice.

11 / 01 / 07
Check out the Yahoo exclusive US 'Hot Fuzz' trailer, with an intro from the guys and a few more differences to the one you've already seen: Click.

19 / 01 / 07
Update on the 'Hot Fuzztival' films being presented by Edgar here on his MySpace blog (I think you have to be logged in to Myspace to read it).

26 / 01 / 07
Get yourself down to your local newsagents and hassle the shopkeeper until they give you the March 'Explosive Action Issue' of Empire. It's got a Fuzzy feature with an interview with our three main men: Wright, Pegg and Frost. It's also got a really, really great photo.

27 / 01 / 07
Live webchat date confirmed! Working Title have very kindly organised an hour-long online chat for us all with Edgar, Simon and Nick on the January 29th at 6:00pm (GMT).

The link to the chat can be found here, so bookmark that ready for Monday and start thinking up your questions now. See you there!

Also, selected Vue Cinemas are hosting advanced gala screenings of 'Hot Fuzz' on the 5th February. Find your local cinema on their site and see if you can't bag yourself a pair of tickets.

31 / 01 / 07
The UK release date has changed, but don't worry - it's been moved forward two days to the 14th February. And you can now also add the official MySpace of the film to your friends list.

If you missed the webchat on Monday, here's the archive. I'm not sure how long that will stay up for and it's quite confusing to read, so I may try to edit it all together at some point.

UPDATES: I've just been informed that the March issue of Film Review has an interview with Edgar in it (thanks Rach!), so you've got some more shopkeeper hassling to do. And help promote the film even more (on your MySpace or whatnot) with the new 'Hot Fuzz' animated banner builder!

And if that's not enough to keep you busy, Edgar has updated his blog with information on two more 'Hot Fuzztival' intros he'll be doing and a few of the HMV signings he'll be attending with Simon and Nick. Click.

06 / 02 / 07
New article added to Interviews in which Edgar discusses two 1987 classics: 'Evil Dead 2' and 'Raising Arizona'. Well, no... unless round is funny.

08 / 02 / 07
Download to watch Simon Pegg, Nick Frost & director Edgar Wright interview each other in a series of four FUZZCASTS, celebrating the release of hit cop action comedy HOT FUZZ. Hilarity ensues as the boys discuss favourite cop films, onscreen duos – and what it’s like to share the middle name ‘John’!

Click here if you're hip enough to already have iTunes or here to download it if, like me, you're not very cool but really want to watch the Fuzzcast.

09 / 02 / 07
'Hot Fuzz' has a new trailer... and it's possibly the best trailer ever. Edited by Edgar and scored by Robert Rodriguez - check it out at Empire.

UPDATE: Now up in V&D.

12 / 02 / 07
US citizens, I have more bad news. If you've not found out already, your release date has been pushed back yet again to the 20th April. But that's only a week longer to wait... and it's worth it.

20 / 02 / 07
Few things for you after being busy for the last week or so and not updating (apologies). There are a number of new interviews and photos to take a look at. Also, check out the movie reference game on HotFuzz.com (the village section) - excellent if you're looking to doss off work for a bit.

Metro are currently running a competition to win a trip to LA for the 'Hot Fuzz' US premiere. All you've got to do to be in with a chance is record a 60 second video... that's gotta be worth the effort. Enter here.

24 / 02 / 07
More news for US citizens... This time very good news. Advanced screenings of 'Hot Fuzz' have been confirmed for Texas and New York. And Edgar will be in attendance at both!

See here for more information and to purchase tickets for the Austin, Texas showing which also features screenings of four other top notch cop films. Takes place on March 31st.

Or here for the New York showing which is preceded by 'Electra Glide in Blue'. Takes place on April 10th.

27 / 02 / 07
Edgar, Simon and Nick will be signing copies of the 'Hot Fuzz' soundtrack at Virgin Megastore, Piccadilly Circus, London tomorrow at 6pm. It's a cracking album so get down there and grab one if you can. Sorry for the short notice!

Yet more apologies for lack of updates of late. Hopefully what I have for you now will make up for that: Some truly great photos courtesy of the lovely Harmony from the lovely Peggster.net (taken from the Wells Journal).

Information about the guys' visit to Australia and NZ can be found on Edgar's blog here.

Empire have been running a competition to win an evening with our favourite director on their site here. And the closing date for that one is today so get to it!

And finally, The Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA are running a 'Hot Fuzztival' this month which features a preview screening of 'Hot Fuzz' presented by Mr. Wright and Mr. Pegg on the 25th. More information here.

10 / 03 / 07
NZ's 3 News have a video interview up with the guys on their site.

12 / 03 / 07
Everyone except Edgar... click here, please!

15 / 03 / 07
Full details of the 'Hot Fuzz' US tour can now be found on Edgar's blog!

Guess what... New blog! Mosey on over to Rogue Pictures here, or here if you're in need of YouTube, and witness some Pirate Maths ©.

18 / 04 / 07
In case you didn't notice, it's Edgar's birthday. So if you're in the US and you bump into him today make sure you wish him many happy returns and give him a big slap on the back.

Don't let Nick flush all your cakes, E.

23 / 04 / 07
Apparently whilst I was away a few more blogs happened. You can now find all four in Videos and Downloads. Thanks for the uploads, guys.

24 / 04 / 07
Hopefully you've been following the MySpace blogs because we now have footage of the legendary cake flushing courtesy of Mr. Wright.

Cake Flush 1 and Cake Flush 2.

Spectacular.

Did you know you can now pre-order 'Hot Fuzz' on double-disc DVD ready for release on June 11th? No? Well, you can. By the looks of things they've spoilt us rotten for special features - and you thought the 'Shaun' DVD was jam-packed...

  • Outtakes (10m 19s)

  • Hot Funk
  • Fuzz-o-meter
  • Storyboards
  • Flick Book: The Other Side (0m 19s)
  • 22 Deleted Scenes with optional commentary by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright (19m 50s)
  • Making of Documentary

I'd especially like to point out the inclusion of 'Dead Right' at the bottom there, a clip of which can be found in V & D. If that's not enough to get you to order it this second, I don't know what is.

HMV are apparently exclusively offering the US poster style cover, so if you liked the look of that I'd order it from there.

Check out the Edgar Wright vs. Shane Black interview over at Esquire.

04 / 05 / 07
Ladies and gentlemen.... Cake Flush 3.

09 / 05 / 07
Now this may not mean a lot to us 'Grindhouse' virgins here in the UK, but according to Rotten Tomatoes there is talk of extending Edgar and Eli Roth's fake trailers. Whether anything will come of this, I Don't know.

There's another nice interview up over here at Backstage.com. Also worth taking a look at this little outtake after you've read it. (Thanks to Chris for the heads up!)

23 / 05 / 07
Have a look at the end of Empire's Cannes Blog #5 to see Wright discussing his new movie, 'Antonement', with Keira Knightly and James McAvoy, and their homo-erotic relationship.... (Ta, Katie!)

Also, maybe you'd like to have a browse of the new shop.

25 / 05 / 07
Further E-ball action in Cannes Blog #6. Also discussed here is the fate of the fake trailers:

And then I think with 'Planet Terror' you're gonna to get the trailers. But we cut all those trailers down [for 'Grindhouse']. So you're gonna get the full Edgar Wright, the full Eli Roth - we were cutting the **** out of those trailers to make time.

Little bit more info on the Fuzztival (please do see below...) from the desk of Wright:

Hey muddy funsters. Join me at the Prince Charles on June the 10th for a marathon of hot cop action. Not only will we screen three of our favourite actions films, but you will get to see a totally unique live commentary from myself, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, as well as other special guests from our Bad Bobby opus HOT FUZZ.

And who can argue with the triple whammy of John Woo's classic HARD BOILED, the bruising, hilarious LAST BOY SCOUT and the palpable homo erotic tension of POINT BREAK.

I will be your host for the day, will join you in watching the marathon of bad-assery and will be flinging a few goodies and surprises your way.

Come join. First come, first served. And totally free.

Get there early. The hardcore will be duly rewarded.

Edgar

Hot Fuzztival Competition Results

What is the name of Edgar Wright's 1993 film which features on the 'Hot Fuzz' DVD?

The answer was, of course, 'Dead Right'.

The four winners drawn from my lovely trilby last night were:

Aislinn Prior
Michael Krotosky
Hayley Scanlon
Nicholas Akrivos

Well done to those people!

Remember, 300 tickets will be available on the day on a first come first served basis, so if you didn't win - don't give up hope and get there early!

09 / 06 / 07
Very late news, I know, but from the horses mouth is an updated list of those beautiful people doing the one-off live commentary on 'Hot Fuzz' tomorrow at the Fuzztival:

EDGAR WRIGHT
SIMON PEGG
NICK FROST
BILL BAILEY
KEVIN ELDON
OLIVIA COLMAN

So you know it's gonna be good.

You think you know everything there is to know about 'Hot Fuzz'? Well, prove it and test your 'Hot Fuzz' IQ here. The questions are devised by none other than the man Edgar Wright himself!

Also check the 'Hot Fuzz' DVD banner builder and promote the release of the Region 2 DVD (which is today) on your MySpace or blog or whathaveyou. Whilst you're at it, why not purchase 'Hot Fuzz' from our shop?

July

01 / 07 / 07
Don't worry, we're still here, and have news: Edgar and Nick will be at the San Diego Comic Con again this year! "Our autograph signing at ComiCon is on Friday, July 27 from 3:30 - 5 pm in the Sails Pavillion Autograph Area of the Convention Center...". So get your arses down there. Also watch this video.

09 / 07 / 07
Edgar talks us through the trailer for the 1967 film 'Danger Diabolik' in his contribution to Trailers From Hell.

Currently working on a whole truckload of 'Hot Fuzz' screencaps too, so watch this space.

11 / 07 / 07
As promised... 'Fuzz' caps! And please, if you do wish to use any of the pictures elsewhere, upload them to a photo hosting site first (such as Imageshack or Photobucket). Thanks.

August

08 / 08 / 07
Huge apologies, everyone, for the complete lack of updates. Hopefully most of you have been kept up to speed by the man himself on MySpace. I've had a lot going on recently and this has taken a backseat... So, take a big mental-breath and we'll see how much I can catch up!

Right, here come the interviews: M&C at Comic-Con, bit of news on a 'Spaced' Region 1 DVD release, a Q&A with NY Post, another with CHUD.

And if you're too lazy to read, here's the audio to one of those Q&As, and a video from the Comic-Con. Another video interview about the DVD here.

Lastly, if you happen to be in LA this Sunday 12th, you might want to make it down to the New Beverly cinema for a double bill of 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun of the Dead'. Edgar will be there and doing a Q&A with prizes and surprises. More details on Edgar's blog and the New Beverly site.

09 / 08 / 07
Edgar interviews Jonah Hill and Michael Cera of 'Superbad'. Contains strong language.

21 / 08 / 07
'Hot Fuzz' has been nominated for Best Comedy at the National Movie Awards, due to be aired on ITV1 on 29th September. Vote for it here. Unless, of course, you'd rather 'Mr. Bean's Holiday' won....

21 / 08 / 07
Some good information on 'Ant-Man' and a little on 'Scott Pilgrim..' hyar.

21 / 08 / 07
Fancy doing a tour of locations used for the filming of 'Spaced' and 'Shaun of the Dead' in London? Well, we now have maps and directions available for you to download!

Check them out in Videos and Downloads or you can download them directly from here.

If you're especially wishing to visit "The Winchester" it'd be worth doing the tour sooner rather than later because, sadly, work has already started on tearing it down in favour of a block of flats. Boo and hiss indeed.

21 / 08 / 07
MTV have a little bit of plot info up about 'Them'... David Icke will be pleased.

October

09 / 10 / 07
Hi everyone. Sorry yet again for the lack of updates, I've recently moved to university and there are some issues with the network here. I won't bore you with the details but please note this also affects my site email so I apologise if you have sent me email recently and not received a reply. Now, onto important things - 'Spaced' marathon at the BFI!

Channel 4 celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and as part of its celebrations will be showcasing a selection of its recent successes at the BFI Southbank. SPACED being one of them.

On Saturday 10th November 2007 there will be a whole day of Spaced. Series 1 will be shown from 12.30 and series 2 will be shown from 19.00. If that's not enough excitement for one day, there's more! At 17.00 Simon, Jess, Nick and Edgar will be there to discuss Spaced, behind-the-scenes story of the series, talk about the bits that didn't make the final cut and how it inspired Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

BFI members postal bookings are taken from 1st October. Members online and phone booking on 8th October. Public booking 11th October. Tickets are £19.75 (concs £14.50) for both series and the talk or £12.50 (concs £9.25) for the talk and either series. BFI members pay £1 less. (Taken from Spaced-Out.org.uk)

UPDATE: There's now a direct link for all you lazy people... here.

November

01 / 11 / 07
By now, most of you will probably have heard about "McSpaced". But if you haven't... Fox Television are planning on making a US version of 'Spaced'. It also seems they made no attempt whatsoever to contact Edgar, Simon or Jess before announcing it, despite implying that they are somehow involved in the project. Here's the news story from Variety.

A quick search, however, shows that McG and Barr appear to be basically the only people in favour of this. Check out all the links and what the man himself has to say on the matter on Edgar's blog. (Also worth visiting to see pictures of a truly excellent Halloween costume.)

And now for some significantly better news - "New Beverly has the Wright Stuff"! Edgar has programmed a festival of films for December of this year. He will also be presenting a fair few of them, so go to as many as you can you lucky LA-ers! Click here for details of dates, costs and the full list of films being screened.

20 / 11 / 07
Issues with updating this thing have been sorted out now, so we should be back to normal! For those of you who didn't catch Edgar presenting "Jonesy's Jukebox" a few weeks ago... "Edgar's Eggbox" is available to listen to / download here.

Edgar has also updated his blog to include details of the special guests who will be joining him for the "Wright Stuff" festival. Check it out, the line up is really something!

I also hope everyone who could make it to the 'Spaced' marathon enjoyed themselves. And if you couldn't be there on the day, I know there are various clips up on YouTube which are worth a watch.

The 'Hot Fuzz' 3 disc Region 1 DVD is now on sale.

Hot Fuzz 3 Disc Cover

This special edition contains the following (copied from Edgar's blog)...

- All the commentaries, the Sandford Police (Simon, Nick, Rafe, Kevin, Olivia, Jim Broadbent), the NWA (Timothy Dalton, Edward Woodward, Paul Freeman, Ken Cranham) and the real Somerset fuzz (this is very funny, listen to the very end it cracks me up, they genuinely think no-one will still be listening in the final moments)

- A brand new-new commentary with me and Quentin Tarantino gabbing away like crazy about British films, movie cops and pretty much everything except Hot Fuzz which comes up 8 times during two hours. You have never heard two bigger geeks talk so fast.

- A longer version of THE FUZZBALL RALLY, very much uncut and unrated. Featuring the infamous 3rd cake flush and much much more. Warning, it really is quite profane. I'd like to apologise to my mother for the fruity language. It gets hard out there on the road.

- A commentary on the FUZZBALL RALLY with me, Nick, Simon and Joe Cornish. This was a blast too. Had a really good time with this. You must let us know what you think.

- Some other blogs that are previously unreleased. There some VW sponsored blogs that cover the UK press tour and premiere and some very funny ITUNES podcasts where we were so tired and delirious that we are mucking around a lot.

- Plus all the hours and hours of stuff from the two-disc that wasn't on the single disc. The plotholes, the making of, DEAD RIGHT (with two commentaries, Simon and Nick's is hilarious)

You can find it on Amazon.com... or elsewhere if you search around!
