04 / 01 / 07 And I'm sure you have: See it
here.
Hopefully you've checked out all the new and shiny
bits on HotFuzz.com by now, but also make sure
you sign up on the now revamped JoinTheFuzz.com
for the full fan-community experience!
07 / 01 / 07 08 / 01 / 07 And we have more goodies added to the
Videos and Downloads page! Another Bluetones video and two sketches from the 1997 show 'Mash
and Peas' with Lucas and Walliams, all directed by you-know-who.
Lastly, got MySpace?
Edgar wants to be your friend. And yes, that is really him.
09 / 01 / 07 If you take a gander at the 'Hot Fuzz' listing you'll also see
that the "special guests" have been confirmed as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost; that the screening is now a
double-bill (being paired with 'The Super Cops') and that Edgar will be DJing between films. Nice.
11 / 01 / 07 19 / 01 / 07 26 / 01 / 07 27 / 01 / 07 The link to the chat can be found
here, so bookmark that
ready for Monday and start thinking up your questions now. See you there!
Also, selected Vue Cinemas are hosting advanced gala screenings of 'Hot
Fuzz' on the 5th February. Find your local cinema on their site
and see if you can't bag yourself a pair of tickets.
31 / 01 / 07 If you missed the webchat on Monday,
here's the archive. I'm not sure how long that
will stay up for and it's quite confusing to read, so I may try to edit it all together at some point.
UPDATES: I've just been informed that the March issue of Film Review
has an interview with Edgar in it (thanks Rach!), so you've got some more shopkeeper hassling to do. And help
promote the film even more (on your MySpace or whatnot) with the new
'Hot Fuzz' animated banner builder!
03 / 02 / 07 Design an original Hot Fuzz poster to win an official
glossy Hot Fuzz poster signed by none other than Nick and Simon! The overall winner and 5 runners
up will also win a copy of the official Hot Fuzz soundtrack. Plus your poster will be seen by
Nick, Simon and Edgar and everyone else around the world!
The winning designs will be displayed on the official
Hot Fuzz MySpace page
(www.myspace.com/hotfuzzthemovie)
and across our partner fan sites:
www.peggster.net,
www.frostitution.net,
www.spaced-out.org.uk,
www.edgarwright.co.uk.
THE RULES: So do the guys proud and get out your Photoshop and
drawing boards - and show us you've got what the Fuzz is looking for.
For more detailed Terms and Conditions please see
here.
And if that's not enough to keep you busy, Edgar has updated
his blog with information on two more 'Hot Fuzztival' intros he'll be doing and a few of the HMV signings he'll
be attending with Simon and Nick. Click.
06 / 02 / 07 08 / 02 / 07 Click
here if you're hip enough to already have iTunes or
here to download it if,
like me, you're not very cool but really want to watch the Fuzzcast.
09 / 02 / 07 UPDATE: Now up in V&D.
12 / 02 / 07 20 / 02 / 07 Metro are currently running a competition to win a
trip to LA for the 'Hot Fuzz' US premiere. All you've got to do to be in with a chance is record a 60 second
video... that's gotta be worth the effort. Enter
here.
24 / 02 / 07 See
here for more information and to purchase tickets for the Austin, Texas showing which also features screenings of four
other top notch cop films. Takes place on March 31st.
Or
here for the New York showing which is preceded by 'Electra Glide in Blue'. Takes place on April 10th.
27 / 02 / 07 09 / 03 / 07 Information about the guys' visit to Australia and NZ can be
found on Edgar's blog
here.
Empire have been running a competition to
win an evening with our favourite director on their site
here. And
the closing date for that one is today so get to it!
And finally, The Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA are running
a 'Hot Fuzztival' this month which features a preview screening of 'Hot Fuzz' presented by Mr. Wright and
Mr. Pegg on the 25th. More information
here.
10 / 03 / 07 12 / 03 / 07 15 / 03 / 07 22 / 03 / 07 30 / 03 / 07 Winners The overall winner will receive an official, glossy signed 'Hot Fuzz'
poster and a copy of the official soundtrack. The guys’ picks and the runners up will receive a copy of the
official Hot Fuzz Soundtrack. Well done to those people!
13 / 04 / 07 18 / 04 / 07 Don't let Nick flush all your cakes, E.
23 / 04 / 07 24 / 04 / 07
Cake Flush 1 and
Cake Flush 2.
Spectacular.
26 / 04 / 07 I'd especially like to point out the inclusion of
'Dead Right' at the bottom there, a clip of which can be found in V & D.
If that's not enough to get you to order it this second, I don't know what is.
HMV are apparently exclusively offering
the US poster style cover, so if you liked the look of that I'd order it from there.
03 / 05 / 07 04 / 05 / 07 09 / 05 / 07 There's another nice interview up over
here at Backstage.com. Also worth taking a look at
this little outtake after you've read it.
(Thanks to Chris for the heads up!)
23 / 05 / 07 Also, maybe you'd like to have a browse of the
new shop.
25 / 05 / 07 And then I think with 'Planet Terror' you're
gonna to get the trailers. But we cut all those trailers down [for 'Grindhouse']. So you're
gonna get the full Edgar Wright, the full Eli Roth - we were cutting the **** out of those
trailers to make time.
31 / 05 / 07 HOT FUZZTIVAL COMPETITION
Join director Edgar Wright as he
takes you through his film inspirations for the action comedy box office smash 'Hot Fuzz'.
Date: Sunday 10th June
Venue: Prince Charles Cinema, London, WC2H 7BY
In attendance: Edgar Wright, Nick Frost, Simon Pegg
Show times are as follows:
We have 4 pairs of tickets to give away. All you
have to do is answer this simple question:
What is the name of Edgar Wright's 1993 film which
features on the 'Hot Fuzz' DVD?
Send your answer, along with your full name and address, to
llama@edgarwright.co.uk.
The closing date for this competition is June 6th at 9:00pm.
The winners will be announced here and notified by email.
Please note that winners of this competition must be able to make their
own way to London to attend, and will need to be at the Prince Charles Cinema by 10:30am.
If you are not lucky enough to receive these tickets
then you can come down and queue for free entry on a first come first served basis. I must stress that
there is a limited amount of tickets for this event, and so coming on the day will not guarantee you
entry.
Good luck!
EDIT: And this just in from HMV.co.uk...
"Actor Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright will be signing
copies of the 'Hot Fuzz' DVD at HMV 150 Oxford Street, London - Monday 11 June - 1.00pm".
02 / 06 / 07 Hey muddy funsters. Join me at
the Prince Charles on June the 10th for a marathon of hot cop action. Not only will we screen
three of our favourite actions films, but you will get to see a totally unique live commentary
from myself, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, as well as other special guests from our Bad Bobby
opus HOT FUZZ.
And who can argue with the triple whammy of John Woo's
classic HARD BOILED, the bruising, hilarious LAST BOY SCOUT and the palpable homo erotic
tension of POINT BREAK.
I will be your host for the day, will join you in watching
the marathon of bad-assery and will be flinging a few goodies and surprises your way.
Come join. First come, first served. And totally free.
Get there early. The hardcore will be duly rewarded.
Edgar
07 / 06 / 07 What is the name of Edgar Wright's 1993 film which
features on the 'Hot Fuzz' DVD?
The answer was, of course, 'Dead Right'.
The four winners drawn from my lovely trilby last night
were: Remember, 300 tickets will be available on the day on
a first come first served basis, so if you didn't win - don't give up hope and get there early!
09 / 06 / 07 So you know it's gonna be good.
11 / 06 / 07 Also check the 'Hot Fuzz' DVD
banner builder and
promote the release of the Region 2 DVD (which is today) on your MySpace or blog or whathaveyou. Whilst
you're at it, why not purchase 'Hot Fuzz' from our shop?
01 / 07 / 07 09 / 07 / 07 Currently working on a whole truckload of 'Hot Fuzz'
screencaps too, so watch this space.
11 / 07 / 07 08 / 08 / 07 Right, here come the interviews:
M&C at Comic-Con, bit of news on a
'Spaced' Region 1 DVD release, a Q&A with
NY Post, another with
CHUD.
And if you're too lazy to read,
here's the audio to one of those Q&As, and a
video from the Comic-Con. Another video interview about the DVD
here.
Lastly, if you happen to be in LA this Sunday 12th, you might
want to make it down to the New Beverly cinema
for a double bill of 'Hot Fuzz' and 'Shaun of the Dead'. Edgar will be there and doing a Q&A with prizes
and surprises. More details on Edgar's blog and the New Beverly site.
09 / 08 / 07 21 / 08 / 07 21 / 08 / 07 21 / 08 / 07 Check them out in
Videos and Downloads or you can download them directly from
here.
If you're especially wishing to visit "The Winchester"
it'd be worth doing the tour sooner rather than later because, sadly, work has already started on
tearing it down in favour of a block of flats. Boo and hiss indeed.
21 / 08 / 07 09 / 10 / 07 Channel 4 celebrates its 25th anniversary this year,
and as part of its celebrations will be showcasing a selection of its recent successes
at the BFI Southbank. SPACED being one of them.
On Saturday 10th November 2007 there will be a whole day of Spaced. Series 1 will be shown
from 12.30 and series 2 will be shown from 19.00. If that's not enough excitement for one day,
there's more! At 17.00 Simon, Jess, Nick and Edgar will be there to discuss Spaced,
behind-the-scenes story of the series, talk about the bits that didn't make the final cut
and how it inspired Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
BFI members postal bookings are taken from 1st October. Members online and phone booking
on 8th October. Public booking 11th October. Tickets are £19.75 (concs £14.50) for both
series and the talk or £12.50 (concs £9.25) for the talk and either series. BFI members
pay £1 less. (Taken from Spaced-Out.org.uk)
UPDATE: There's now a direct link for all you lazy
people... here.
01 / 11 / 07 A quick search, however, shows that McG and Barr appear
to be basically the only people in favour of this. Check out all the links and what the man himself
has to say on the matter on
Edgar's blog. (Also worth visiting to see pictures of a truly excellent Halloween costume.)
And now for some significantly better news - "New Beverly
has the Wright Stuff"! Edgar has programmed a festival of films for December of this year. He will
also be presenting a fair few of them, so go to as many as you can you lucky LA-ers! Click
here for details of dates, costs and the full list of films being screened.
20 / 11 / 07 Edgar has also updated his blog to include details
of the special guests who will be joining him for the "Wright Stuff" festival.
Check it out, the line up is really something!
I also hope everyone who could make it to the 'Spaced' marathon
enjoyed themselves. And if you couldn't be there on the day, I know there are various clips up on YouTube
which are worth a watch.
03 / 12 / 07 This special edition contains the following (copied from Edgar's blog)...
- All the commentaries, the Sandford Police (Simon, Nick, Rafe, Kevin, Olivia, Jim Broadbent), the NWA (Timothy Dalton, Edward Woodward, Paul Freeman, Ken Cranham) and the real Somerset fuzz (this is very funny, listen to the very end it cracks me up, they genuinely think no-one will still be listening in the final moments)
- A brand new-new commentary with me and Quentin Tarantino gabbing away like crazy about British films, movie cops and pretty much everything except Hot Fuzz which comes up 8 times during two hours. You have never heard two bigger geeks talk so fast.
- A longer version of THE FUZZBALL RALLY, very much uncut and unrated. Featuring the infamous 3rd cake flush and much much more. Warning, it really is quite profane. I'd like to apologise to my mother for the fruity language. It gets hard out there on the road.
- A commentary on the FUZZBALL RALLY with me, Nick, Simon and Joe Cornish. This was a blast too. Had a really good time with this. You must let us know what you think.
- Some other blogs that are previously unreleased. There some VW sponsored blogs that cover the UK press tour and premiere and some very funny ITUNES podcasts where we were so tired and delirious that we are mucking around a lot.
- Plus all the hours and hours of stuff from the two-disc that wasn't on the single disc. The plotholes, the making of, DEAD RIGHT (with two commentaries, Simon and Nick's is hilarious)
You can find it on Amazon.com... or
elsewhere if you search around!
